Upper Merion Police: Car keyed, animal bites

Sheraton Hotel 480 North Gulph Road ? occurred between 4 p.m. on July 20 and 8:49 a.m. on July 21.

An employee called UMPD when she saw a vehicle in the parking lot with a rear passenger window smashed out. The owner arrived at the vehicle and stated the wife?s purse had been stolen. He stated the bank called him about a suspicious purchase that was made with a credit card.

King of Prussia Plaza 160 North Gulph Road ? occurred July 20 between 1 and 1:30 p.m.

Victim stated she was at the Apple Store for a training session and placed her laptop in a backpack. She later discovered her laptop was missing.

Vehicle Theft

Pole 30 King of Prussia Plaza Lot 160 North Gulph Road ? occurred July 25 between 3 and 4 p.m.

Stolen was a red 2012 Kia Optima.

Warrant Service other Agency

West DeKalb Pike and Shaffer Road ? occurred July 22 at 1:27 a.m.

Police stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. The driver was wanted out of Chester Continued...

County for a probation violation; she was turned over to Chester County officials.

Animal Bite

300 block West Beidler Road ? occurred July 9 at 11:21 a.m.

Victim was taking his dog and child for a walk when a pit bull from ran from a house and attacked them. The victim was taken to the hospital for his injuries and his dog was taken to the vet for injuries to his head. This is the second time this dog has bitten someone. The owner was cited for the last incident and will be cited again for this incident. An additional charge of ?harboring a dangerous dog? will be filed.

Criminal Mischief

Walker Field 515 Williams Road ? occurred July 25 at 12:29 a.m.

On patrol police found the lights on at the basketball courts. Unknown actors pushed the bleachers up against the light post to the control box. There was trash, t-shirts, water bottles and a basketball left behind. The actors also broke out one of the lights that were center court and attempted to burn items on the court.

Neighbors have advised the pastor of the church that juveniles have been loitering and smoking behind the shed at night.

1000 block Penn Circle?between 1:30 p.m. on July 19 and 11:30 p.m. on July 21

Resident had two large packages delivered. When he returned home one was undisturbed and the other was cut open and contents missing.

900 block of Parkview Drive? occurred July 23 at 8:13 p.m.

Victim was selling a car on Craig?s List. A male called and stated he wanted to buy the vehicle and was sending the victim a check for $3,500. He requested the victim send two checks in return to two addresses for a total of $2,200. Victim deposited the check and wired the money as requested. The $3,500 check the buyer sent was eventually discovered to be counterfeit.

The victim was advised this practice is a common internet scam.

Executive Estates Park Longview Road ? occurred July 22 at 5:17 p.m.

A resident stated there are vehicles at the park after dark and while in the park he found rolling papers and baggies that appear to have contained marijuana.

King of Prussia Plaza Lot ? occurred July 22 between 1:25 and 1:45 p.m.

Victim stated she was approached by a female who started screaming at her as she parked her vehicle out by a Rite Aid. When she returned, the word ?bitch? was keyed onto the passenger side rear door.

Sears 160 North Gulph Road ? occurred July 24 at 6:59 p.m.

An employee observed a male remove the security sensor from a 55-inch TV and walked out of the store. The employee watched the subject put the TV in an unknown make black vehicle.

Go Games 690 West DeKalb Pike ? occurred July 20 between 3 and 9 p.m.

A lone employee reported money missing from the safe.
