LG introduces device loaner program for app developers

LG loaner program

Android application developers can use an LG device to test for 30 days at no cost

LG realizes the importance of having apps that work with their unique hardware and software APIs. Like Samsung, they held a developer conference recently in San Francisco where they debuted the QRemote SDK. According to LG, the new LG QRemote SDK "contains the library, documentation and sample codes that enable developers to create their QuickRemote apps to control multiple electronic devices such as TVs, cable set-top-boxes and audio systems, and even air conditioners. This SDK provides developers with open apps necessary to develop IR (infrared) remote sensor-enabled applications."

Interested developers will be required to register with LG, and upon acceptance they will have the use of an LG Android device (The LG G2 is mentioned by name) to debug and test applications. At the end of the 30-day loan, they will be required to pay return postage.

This is a smart move, and a good way to kick start development for LG's IR blaster technology. If you're interested and think you qualify, see the link below. The full press release is after the break.
