The Arlington High baseball team recovered from its loss to Belmont last week by besting Wakefield on the road, 8-4, on Wednesday.
Spy Ponder pitcher Sam Donnelly went the distance, allowing eight hits and four runs while striking out eight.
The number ?2? proved to be wild for Kyle Hood. Hood recorded two hits on the day - including two doubles ? walked twice and scored two runs.
?Kyle hit the ball very well today,? said Arlington coach Joe Sancinito. ?He really had good, productive at-bats.?
Remy Pontes drove in two runs with two sacrifice-flies, and Will Martin had a key hit with two outs in the third inning, driving in another two runs for Arlington.
Hunter Sleeper and Hood both played well in the field for AHS.
?We?re off to a good start,? said Sancinito, whose squad is now 2-1. ?We certainly have things to work on, but we?re really taking it one game at a time.?
The Spy Ponders are scheduled to travel to Watertown on Friday.
